I really loved theiconquest back in the days so these were really fun to make. The Wizard and Bard icons were, as usual, quite the challenge, but that's never a bad thing. I'll definitely do more rounds of technique20in20Oh, and I had a great time picking the fandoms, I tried something a ( Read more... )

I love that you really tried to jump all over the place to meet each set's guidelines! The Wizard icons are so out there and wild, and I especially like that first one with the subject popping out of the bolt sign. The colors in that last Hero icon are so lovely and strong! Loving the crop in that second Rogue icon, too! :D

Aww thanks a lot! I did enjoy trying all the different styles, reading tutorials and trying to find a way to make it work so this means a lot xD That Wizard icon turned out much better than I thought it would (thankfully) and I'm quite proud of the other ones you mentioned so yaaay XD

Reading tuts can be so fun and yet so frustrating cuz I can never manage to follow instructions or make anything that looks remotely similar to the icons that I'm trying to get the feel of. I can see it's worked out better for you cuz there's an eclectic vibe here that shows you picked up lots of great ideas from reading about other people's iconning processes! Keep going cuz I look forward to more of your work! :D

I'm usually the same with tutorials: no matter how hard I try I can never get results close to those icons! So don't worry, it's not just you XD And thanks again!

Yay! Awesome set!

I found the idea of giving ourselves points a bit weird, too - I found it really hard to decide which techniques I could count and which I couldn't. But I decided not to care how many points I got, that made it a lot easier. :D

Text is always so hard! I really like how the text goes around the subject in bard #5. Your wizard #3 is amazing! I really like #4 and #5, too. The coloring in #5 is especially creative.

Of the heroes, I like #1 and #5 the most - paint textures ftw!

I love how your subjects in the rogue category actually look like rogues! :D I didn't even think of that! I especially like the dark look of #4 and the bw/color mix in #1.

Great job!

Didn't care too much about the points easier, but as you said determining which was which was really hard!

And I haaaate text XD I'm never inspired and I don't know how to make it good in general. So thanks, I'm glad you like it!!

Wizard #5 was pure accident but it's actually my favourite, and I've been trying to recreate those effects since and obviously failing XDD

Treating the themes as interpretatives as well as technical was so much fun, espcially for the rogues XD

Thanks a lot for all that!!
