I'm curious if there will be some changes, like if they will continue letting Prospero do the Harpy speech, like he did for the past couple of performances, to spare Colin's voice, or if they'll let the other spirits support Ariel's final song. I'm also curious if there will be some acknowledgement in some way that it's Colin back on stage, because so far the actors improvised some bits to deal with the situation of having an actor read from script, and the audience apparently gave an extra supporting applause at the end for the man who filled in for Colin.
I can so understand how Colin fans must have felt after looking forward to seeing him on stage and then hearing he couldn't make it. The vast majority was understanding, and nice to Matthew, and of course the play is a treat in itself with a lovely cast, but it can't be helped that there was disappointment. And it must have been so damn frustrating for Colin.
Anyway, he's back, and hopefully it'll work out fine.
Considering how dedicated Colin is to his craft, I have to agree that this must have been very frustrating for him. Hopefully we'll get a report on how his return performance goes because I must confess, I too am very curious if there will be any changes or acknowledgements.
We're all pulling for him so if things don't go well, it won't be for lack of goodwill!
I have a bunch of friends in London who've all missed out on seeing him over the past few days and were absolutely devastated. I'm so glad he's feeling better now though!!
You are!? Wonderful! Fingers and toes crossed that the days between now and then will be plenty for Colin to recover from tonight's performance. It'll be the last one, so I'm sure he'll be there if given half the chance!
Lucky you! My greatest fear when my trip was finalized was that Colin would not make the performance I booked. I feel for those who missed him! So, um ... what do we do until Quirke? And then what?
