It's amazing how much his looks have matured in so short a time. He was beautiful in S1 and he's gorgeous in S5 and all the seasons between. I am sad though, that he seems less happy as the years go on. :( I know it has to do with them wanting S5 to be all "dark" and shit, but Colin has such a wonderful smile. I hope we at least get to see Merlin happy in S5, especially if it's the last season.

And, yes, sort of sad to see that smile dim more and more in each successive year. But he's less naive and more realistic. I am sure he still smiles, though. : )

Like everyone said, the promos of Merlin do just seem to make him look more burdened as time progresses. I just hope all the joy hasn't been sucked out of him, Merlin's character always had such a happy nature, even in most of the dark times. It will be hard to watch if they've stripped him of his resiliency.

I have to admit, Colin looks lovely when he's sad, he can make crying a study in fragile, ethereal beauty but there is nothing on earth that can compare to his smile. He could stop whole armies in their tracks with the dazzling wattage of that gorgeous grin!
