Huh. Interesting. I'm always uncertain whether or not to read a book before seeing the film adaptation of it. I usual do end up reading the book first, but mostly because I'm a voracious reader, and feel sorta compelled! In this case, I hadn't even known there was a book. I can see them sitting around discussing how to make Colin ugly. Short of prosthetic makeup to cover up his perfect features, which would be costly (very costly, in his case), there was only the option of the most awful haircut in the world. Didn't work at all, of course. X
Calum! I enjoyed this film a lot; the mood of it was so dreamy and haunting--a combined effect of the story itself, the wonderful performances, and also the cinematography: it looked beautiful. And yes, Colin, too. I hated his hair, but it being so short did show all of his face, including his lovely brow. This film also made me seriously wonder if Colin could actually change his eye colour to match his mood, or his clothes, or the eyes of his co-star! X
I still have to read the book. I'm so behind on my reading! Maybe if I read less fanfiction of the M/A kind... The awful haircut was a valiant try to make Colin less attractive - I hope they didn't aim for ugly because that was a lost battle - but alas it didn't really work. Like at all.
