I love the title of your post. It's so true!

Also going back to 4x03: I've just remembered the joy you can see in Old Merlin's eyes when he's finally able to explain how magic works to Arthur, right to his face, after 6 years. It's so pure it's almost childish.
That's Colin, with layers of prostetics on his face. Just... no words.

Ahhh, I know exactly what bit of 1.13 that is. It's one of the first bits I watched over and over and over again because it struck me how beautiful he was in it :)
