Out in the compound, Father Mulcahy is on his way to the mess tent, humming a cheerful (well, for a relative value of cheerful) hymn under his breath.

Of course, on the way, he nearly runs smack into Klinger.

His head comes up fast, eyes wide. "Klinger! I'm sorry, I didn't see you."

Klinger hugs his grey bundle closer, as if to hide the oblong and sharp shapes beneath it.

"You haven't seen me. You haven't seen a thing."

It would do absolutely no good in this plan if he got caught.
