El Salvador played us pretty tough when we went down there. We were lucky to escape with a 2-2 tie. Mexico's going to have their hands full, which is a good thing for us in the US.
There's a pretty big Salvadoran community up in LA, iirc. East LA is going to be hopping tonight either way the match goes :-)
East LA is a fabulous place. I so prefer it to the Westside. You'll think you need a passport to cross the 110, that's for sure, but it's just people, honestly. And the Mexican food you can get there... Diosa Mia. And if you're a little white girl and you're with a Salvadoran family, you've got nothing to worry about because they speak the language.
I used to work in East LA on Valley Blvd, right by CSU-LA. Loved it. Tough neighborhood, but lovely people.
