Last week, I posted the rules Robert A. Heinlein used in his writing career. This week, southernweirdo  posted a link to this article. It contains a list of rules used by various writers. Rules are important. Good rules will help you to better achieve success. Bad rules can leave you in a never ending loop of despair.

That is a great set of rules. My favorite and what would be my #2 (your #1 being THE #1 no matter who you are!) rule is #5--take responsibility! This goes for writing, and every other aspect of life. If you don't write today, don't blame it on the traffic after work. Take responsibility for every decision you make. If it was a wrong decision, accept it, acknowledge it, and move on.

Nicely done, my dear--as always. :)

Nice rules. I do think it is important for writers to write what they want to write, don't think about the market or pleasing people. Write and enjoy the story.

Good rules.

I guess mine would be, Write, Read Critically, Study, Listen, Set Goals, Submit. In no particular order after #1.

That submitting is always a good one. Else people's stuff may never see the light of day.
