The Writers of the Future Contest will start its fourth quarter on July 1st and will run to Sept. 30th, 2009. This is one of the best contests for new writers to participate in.  The winner of the quarter gets $1,000; second place gets $750; and third gets $500.

And yeah, I do plan to submit this time. I have known about the contest for years and have always wanted to submit, but have never gotten around to it.

Since it is closed to professional writers, and I'm submitting more stories than ever before, I want to take my crack at winning before I do something horrible ( and great ) by becoming a professional writer and disqualifying myself.
