The trip to the zoo had been fun, although possibly somewhat tiring for Tara, who had been forced to deal with two energetic youngsters and the trauma of one of them attempting to kidnap a lion cub ( Read more... )

They had not been trying to kidnap the cub! They had been making a new friend.

Really, sometimes it was just so difficult being wee! Adults were so hard to train and they honestly did not understand the most simple of concepts. The lion cub could have come home with them and played with Jiji and slept with them and they would have feed her and played with her and it would have been wonderful!

But no...all this talk about the lionness wanting to eat them missing her cub and Auntie Ra had been gentle but very firm on the subject of taking wild baby animals away from their mothers.

Oh well.

The carousel however had been marvelously distracting, to the point that Wilson had clung stubbornly to his pony and refused to budge, even after the fourth time around!

She had not offered to babysit. No. Kids were cute. She didn't do cute. Remember?

It was just...

Tara had given her that Tara look. The one where she'd hit a wall and needed a break but wouldn't dare impose on anyone. And while Lee didn't like most people at all, Tara was special. She'd been the first one in Tropolis to engage Lee and begin fanning the cold embers in her soul.

It had nothing to do with the fact that wee!Aziraphale reminded her of Jude with his little white wings. And even less than nothing to do with her arms missing the weight of her lost children.

Really.

Tara was the reason she now stooped to scoop wee!Phale and wee!Wilson up and balance one on each hip. "So boys, what sort of mischief shall we get up to, hmm?"

After all. She was still a Fallen angel.

Aziraphale, for his part, was delighted with the arrangement, and he threw his little chubby arms around Lee's neck and gave her a big toddler kiss on the cheek.

"Lee!" he crowed, finally coming across a name he could manage the correct pronunciation of. "Dames n' wings n' kitties n' icekeem n' may-go-oun!" The wee!angel bounced a bit on her hip as he excitedly shared all the delights of the day so far.

What could be done to top all of that, he didn't know. But he was sure it would be fun!

Hanging on to Lee's shoulder, Wilson also crowed with delight, though mostly it was in response to Phale's good humor.

"Kitty?" He asked, not above a little toddler weedling, just in case Lee hadn't heard about the lion cub escapade? Probably not a very good chance of that though, Tara had been fairly thorough in running down what the boys had been up to up to this point.
