(I hate infodumps: Jazz had dark, mocha colored skin. He wore a shiny blue visor over his eyes and had thick black braids that fell down to his shoulders. When he smiled, his teeth were white and dimples appeared. He wore a white shirt with a blue and red stripe running down it and black sweats with while marks on it to make them look athletic. *barf barf barf*)
I find perversely pleased by the fact that Chapter 1 threw you a bit, because the GitS always threw me off when I watched it the first time and would always watch it again to glean the details. >:)

Yet another fascinating world you are building here!

Jazz doesn't mind belonging to Prowl, even though he is really a person (despite the fact that he wasn't intended to be, nor suspected to be because AI in this fic are still not comparable to humans, even though Jazz was made to learn) because Prowl treats him like a person. Better even, because Prowl cares about Jazz-the-constant-companion when he's so disconnected from the rest of humanity.
Jazz is enamored himself. :)
I'm not going to let myself be suckered into writing more than one more chapter for this ficlet. >:|

Though I right now find myself feeling a little bad for Prowl he is in a way loosing "Jazz-the-constant-companion" since he will no longer be in his head. find myself hoping he gains him in another way to make up for that

Anyway, the level of detail in this chapter was gorgeous. You had so much detail into Jazz's discovering and exploration of his own senses (at least sight/sound), that I was actually able to envision it. Needless to say, awesomesauce.
I can't wait to see how Prowl reacts to Jazz's surprise. (And I know it's already been said, but it's extremely interesting to see Jazz as the more non-human component when usually Prowl carries that role.)
Well, I'm snared! ^__^

Awesome. I like hearing that the detail came out right because there is a delicate balance between giving enough details to make something vivid enough that the mind can shade in the rest and going over the top into *yawn* territory, or even into the realm of adjective-vomit. Bleck.
