The Standalone Hack incident is very much a GitS reference. It's my favorite anime and it is a large part of my love for the variations on the theme of "What makes a person a person?" that show up in my writing, from blending man and machine to my favorite Cybertronians. :) (GitS Arise is coming out. \o/)

Oh yeah, Jazz is definitely annoyed by the reminders of the limitations on Prowl and Prowl is going to be baffled by everything that Jazz wants to "fix" because he doesn't see himself as having anything wrong with himself. He's preprogrammed and, blazingly intelligent as he might be, in Prowl's experience preprogrammed mechs get crap rations and are regularly "sleep" deprived. All the "other stuff" is for mechs who start out as sparklings. The fact that Jazz is giving him enough energon to be able to take in and process the amount of information that his frame was made to work with is the first crack in that belief, helped along by the fact that it lets him do what he was meant to do-which is think.
