Now years ago when Steven Wright was on the verge of becoming the "IT" comic...I saw him in concert.  Back then I was pretty hip and on the bleeding edge of everything Media.  I could pick out a winner before they were in the race, so to speak.  Nowadays...Not so much.

Steven Wright is one those people that there are lists of jokes falsely attributed to him. He did say once

"A giant amount of them, I'm embarrassed that people think I thought of them, because some are really bad."

Anyway I am sure "Half the people you know are below average" isn't original to him. It also isn't true.

lets say this for this discussion that normal is 6 to 8 on a 1 to 10 scale. Then lets say that 75% of the people is 6 and above.
That would make 1 out of 4 is below, but which four is the question.
Not Annies friends that for sure because I am one.
but I can guarandammtee you this much, 3 out of 4 of my kin on the
inlaw side is below 5, and I may be border line when I'm around them.
