The biggest problem was probably that none of them were in order and he'd forgotten to attach names to most of the smaller notes.

"Morning, Professor," he greeted.

He looked back at the paper he'd been going over for just long enough to put his finger firmly on the spot he'd been in the middle of reading.

"Putting together our grades? I don't mean to bother," and he finally pulled the book down, "I just wanted to ask you about something."

"You aren't bothering. What did you need?"
