Dan called me Monday (the day before moving day) to say he'd been asked to interview for a job in Baker City (far eastern Oregon). Yay, interview! But they wanted to see him on Thursday, so he compromised with Friday morning. Left NY on Tuesday. 2600 miles. Needs to be in Oregon by 9AM Friday AND THEN HAVE A JOB INTERVIEW. I feel the same way about road trips, actually, and I take two to three a year. I always forget how much the middle sucks, and how much you just want to get home at the end.

And then you keep doing it. I suppose it's a good trait to be able to forget negative aspects of something. Or do you remember that the negative bits are coming, and just choose put up with them in order to get to good stuff?

A bit of both. I tend to forget how monotonous the middle of a road trip is but, with Bonnaroo, I know I will be miserable at various points dying its four days and consider it an integral part of its experience.
