The brightness can damage the eyes, I'm assuming? It makes sense not to stare at something that bright head on.

Yes. Only if you look for too long- but if you stare for a few moments, when you look away, you'll see spots.

Oh, okay. Yeah, that makes sense. I kind of like looking at it, even if it does strain my eyes after a while. I won't stare at it needlessly though, because that'd be stupid.

Blindness can be considered a handicap, but it's not something that can't be compensated for, I'm sure. The blind aren't totally incapacitated.
