[Piece's handwriting is small and kind of bubbly but easy to read.]
Fifth Day.
I know that no one knows me yet. I'm called Piece, and this is my first time writing in this journal, even though I've been here for a few days already. I think I was 'finding my feet'. I know that I have to be dependable and find a job soon, and I was thinking of trying a ( Read more... )

It's [another long pause, one or two tears actually manage to stain the page, despite the lack of gravity] so new and beautiful and warm and bright. I feel like this is the first time I've ever seen a sun.

...

Are you crying?

The sun is quite beautiful...Just don't stare at it okay?

I can't seem to do anything else. I really want to smile and be happy--because I'm so happy to see the sun--but something is hurting inside me. I can't seem to smile at all, so all I can do is cry about it.

I won't stare, I promise.

There are many jobs in housekeeping. I'm sure someone will be able to assist you, if that's what you'd like.

And it's good to meet you, Piece. I'm Raise.

And she's right- if you wish to look a the sun, be wary so as to not stare into it.

Housekeeping. Thank you. I'll definitely look into it.

It's nice to meet you, Raise. What do you do as a job?

The brightness can damage the eyes, I'm assuming? It makes sense not to stare at something that bright head on.

I work in the marketplace, at a food stand.

Yes. Only if you look for too long- but if you stare for a few moments, when you look away, you'll see spots.

That must be a nice job. Do you get to eat stuff for discounts, or do you still have to pay full for it?

Oh, okay. Yeah, that makes sense. I kind of like looking at it, even if it does strain my eyes after a while. I won't stare at it needlessly though, because that'd be stupid.

Its nice to meet you piece. My name is Kite. It's not normally a good idea to look into the sun, unless you feel like being blind. not that you cant function while being blind. But for some it might be kind of a burden... heh.

So the sun's brightness really can damage the eyes. I see. Thank you for the advice.

Blindness can be considered a handicap, but it's not something that can't be compensated for, I'm sure. The blind aren't totally incapacitated.

But still, if I knew a blind person, I'd like to help them out as much as I could with whatever they needed. It's kind of sad for the ones who were born blind though... they'd never get to see the sun. It's so pretty.

Yep, that's the sun!

Gorgeous, isn't it? Makes you just want to have a picnic!

A picnic... yeah, that sounds nice. I dunno if I've ever been on one before, but it'd be nice to try it under the sun.

So the only way to tell people apart in these journals is by the handwriting, huh. I think I'll be able to get used to it quick.

Yeah, but after a while it becomes pretty easy.

I'm Kitty. Let's have a picnic sometime!

Well

[long pause]

Well, I'm sorry I'm weird then! There wasn't even a sun in my dream! And because of that, I froze to death! I wish I had seen a sun before too! I
