Despite the protestations of one Kate Shephard, Alyx is on guard duty at the mouth of Druid Cave. She feels confident that she can repel any wildlife that tries to encroach on the cave entrance, pregnancy or no. Besides, she wants to be the first to meet Corporal Shephard's scouting party when they return from Greenbrier

She'll be the first to catch the sound, then- the sputtering, wheezing noise of a sorely pressed engine coming to the end of its fuel. And the first to catch sight of the Jeep the people of Rowlesburg lent Corporal Shephard- with its solitary driver.

...that's not good.

Alyx is now heading out to meet the jeep, as quickly as she can with her bulging belly and the knee-deep snow.

The Jeep would screech to a halt if there weren't so much snow and if it were, y'know, doing any kind of speed worth mentioning. At the sight of Alyx trying to navigate, the driver hops out of the vehicle and starts making his way towards her himself.

Possibly he is not the driver she wanted to see.

At least he remembered to turn the Jeep off before jumping out.

"...Floyd? What happened."

She's got that You're in trouble, young man look on her face.
