Boingley lets us know.

Government colluding in informed euthanasia?
Self-regulation of an ageing population facing the prospect of impoverished old age?

Good, Bad, or Greyworld?
Let me know.

Who has reported this? The Evening Standard.

Who has compiled the report? Grant Thornton? A partner of Grant Thornton acting independently?

Who commissioned the report? What is the full text of the report?

Boingley hasn't let us know anything, he has provided a link and editorialised. Nothing wrong with that, but it is really not the same thing.

Incidentally, I have to disagree with the "for the economy" part of this - assuming the numbers are right, and that the situation is as simple as portrayed, the government will lose money. However, the people who would have smoked gain the same amount of money. So nothing is necessarily lost from the economy - it just depends what the ex-smokers do with their new found riches.
