Aw Ali! You know I absolutely adore this! (And, am happy to see how the other turned out - must have missed the finished product before your happy customer came along and snagged it. :-) ) I also had such a great time! Am seriously sorry not to have been able to attend the whole con. :-/ Oh well. Next year.
And boy do you make me blush! I consider myself honored to be among those you call friend. :-) I've really missed seeing you IRL over these past years. Can't let it go so long next time, k? :-D
Ah I think I may have posted one or two things before, but nothing major. I do illustration for my full-time job so sometimes it's hard to find the motivation / energy to draw for fun. But, THIS WAS SO FUN OMG.
Caitiy and I met a few years ago, but haven't seen each other since because of her extended stay in Japan! So it was lovely to reunite. I hope we can meet someday too, Eldr!
Yeah, I get so excited about the prospect of meeting you guys! :)
Whoa, full-time illustrator! I remember you mentioning that you worked in the graphics industry. So what sorts of illustration do you do, if you don't mind me asking? :)
One day I hope we will meet! I was so nervous meeting Caitiy, lol, but it was like we were old friends together again.
Right now I do all digital illustration; I work for a design firm, so we have a number of clients that have needs for branding, packaging, websites, interactive, etc. Some of it needs illustration and some of it doesn't. My main client is a casino company, so I do a bunch of cheesy pictures for electronic slot machines, haha! But, I've also done some work for a big name in the animal health industry, as well as other illustration projects. I'm the only illustrator here, so if there's any kind of art job, it usually goes through me. I was hired mostly because I can adapt to different styles very easily.
However, I also do freelance work, and my work in children's book illustration is the most fulfilling, to me. I love it, and hope to do it full-time at some point in my career. :)
