CAPOEIRA!Since my cessation of studying kung fu, there has been a void in my life that can only be described as "a lack of martial arts training." I heard about Capoeira from a fellow student whilst in Japan, and immediately decided I must learn it. It's like kung fu x CRAZY. Stuff like handstands and butterfly kicks--things I would have started ( Read more... )

Capoeria is the art of martial dancing, also known as "A Great Way For Aaron Richelin Melnick To Make A Fool of Himself".

I'm totally not even lying when I say he challenged SOMEONE(can't remember who) to a fight and then tried to do capoera at them in Middle or High School.

Oh! Is that the Brazilian dancing martial arts thing? My-best-friend-Josh told me about that! It seems like way awesome.
....I dunno if I would want to do it. I like standing still in my horse...XD But, who knows, maybe after some more years in KF. :D

Also, homg Jennifer Gov't! I need to read that!

And here's another long book for you: Earth by David Brin. I'm about a third the way through, and it's awesome. Uh, my-best-friend-Josh actually got it for me and made me read it. And it's awesome. >D

Isn't it amazing how 300-page books seem so very short after you've been reading multiple 700-page epics?

I admit I haven't been following your 800-books-marathon but I need to know:

Have you read any Neal Steaphenson?

I'll have to try this Capoeira stuff sometime. Sorry I couldn't go with you.

Also, I do have Max Barry's other 2 books if you'd like to read them. Syrup's an even shorter read than Jennifer Government. I've read it at least 3 times since getting it earlier this year, including reading it in its entirety today.

Also, I'm certain I've read at least one of Maria Irene Fornes's plays, but I can't remember what it was.
