I have no car at the moment.
I took it to get all fixed up.  When I pressed on the brakes, it made an unsettling grinding noise.  My brake pads looked almost brand new.

So this morning I got the news.  One rotor was almost non-existent.  The other was super groovy.  Which is cool.. when you're not a rotor.  Mike had replaced all the rotor junk..

That's what happens when you put off a brake job.

I didn't put it off at all.
There was supposedly nothing wrong with my brakes.
