Just out of sheer curiosity, when you do an art trade, do you expect to receive the physical drawing?

Back in the day when i did more art trades, i never really expected to actually have the drawing mailed out. It used to be that we would just post it on VCL (or whatever equivalent). Has this changed?

I don't expect it doing art trades, and scan in and post. Others work digitally only and just send off source resolution image. But depends on what you agreed on in the trade.

Some trades do have something physically mailed out, because it's always nice to get mail :3

Interesting.

Usually, we only sent the digital images, i never knew that people actually mailed out the stuff.

Definitely in the minority though. Most artists (well, people in general) are too lazy to go to the post office.

I've never had an art trade requested (though, it would be fun!) but I offered free badges for a while. First one I made, the guy demanded that I send him a printed copy (it was digital) and a badge holder, and ship it as well. Kind of left a bad taste in my mouth, so that was the first and last free badge I did...

I'd not expect to need to mail it, since art trades typically imply that no money is exchanged. Only give a physical copy if you're getting one as well.

For a trade i dont' think you should have to send it out unless they ask for it, then they should pay for the shipping :)
