I would think the larger problem is how the school's advertise what they want people to do after they graduate. I doubt anyone thinks they're going to change the world, but they want to help.

Too bad the US government's almost too difficult to navigate to actually get something done. :/

Yeah, I think managing expectations is a big part of it. And yes, the government can be completely awful. That said, we do manage to get a lot of things done day to day in spite of the ridiculousness of the circumstances. Other things, well, you can't stress about the things you can't control. At least that's what I tell myself.
