The subdued chime signaling an incoming wave draws his attention, and he turns his chair to face the Cortex screen-- newly upgraded with advanced comm encryption, set to the highest available legal standard. It's expensive technology, but worth it, particularly now.
He touches 'accept', answering the screen with a cordial smile.
"Gabriel Tam."

"Your wave is welcome at any time."

"That's probably for the best, since it's likely I shan't be able to control when I have access to terminals, and relative timezones so frequently defeat me."

"I see; you're to be traveling, then?"
Polite curiosity in tone, but something of very clear interest as well in his direct inquiring glance.

His mouth twitches, slightly, at the corners. It doesn't seem he can quite keep his smile under control.
"It's part of my duty, you know, to carry the word to those that need to hear it."
