Ha ha, 'bucket of terrible'. :D It's been a long time since a TV show gave me a pairing that interests me as much as those two! I think there's hope for Dave; he's going to be a great guy. (Unless, of course, TPTB are completely done with his storyline and we never see him again, which just my luck, is what will happen. :P )

OMG, I knew who these guys were immediately and I don't (haven't yet) watch the show. I love the b/w but there is such a softness in the color version that lends well to the mood. And I love when references are shown and used but not exact copies.

Did you use the same coloring technique you showed me how to do with a link or something else? The CMYK one?

Glad they were recognizable because I wasn't happy with Dave (the big guy) at all. I work left-to-right so that I don't smudge too much and I almost didn't finish the drawing because of the fail. And I still can't put my finger on what, exactly, is wrong -- his mouth is a little too 'feminine' and his teeth aren't shaped exactly right, but... I still don't know. o_0 So disappointing considering my enormous crush on Max Adler

And this sounds silly, but you got your name in there in an unobtrusive way and works along with the art. FOR THE LIFE OF ME I CAN'T FIGURE THIS OUT.

He does have beautifully shaped lips, and it just hit me where I went wrong - his top lip has a really nice upper curve, but it doesn't protrude in the 'ducky' sort of way it does in this drawing (I drew Jensen Ackles one too many times, I guess!) Oh well, better next time?

Oh, yeah, I remember that tutorial! Thanks for reminding me because I lost that link when my old computer died. The computer I'm on now has a tiny fraction of the links I used to have. *sigh* What I did with this drawing was much simpler, but following that tutorial would have gotten better, more natural-looking results.

Weeellll, I added the name in PS, of course, because my lettering sucks. *g* And I used the 'warp text' feature to curve it to fit Dave's shoulder. :)

I know what you mean! Like when 'Fancy' shows up in so many fics. Its just common now. I love it because I really, truly like bigger guys....Max/Dave types with adorable smiles and strong arms. Someday...Kurt, someday you'll know what a real man's arms feel like when they're wrapped around you!

Yes, this exactly! At the time Kurt first said it, it was definitely meant as an insult, but I could see it becoming an affectionate pet name with time and familiarity. It's not that bad as far as nicknames go; I call my husband 'shithead' sometimes and he just grins and seems pleased with himself, lol. I guess my head canon of future Kurt's and Dave's relationship is a little like my own. :)

(Clearly, not everyone feels that way... I just saw where someone on tumblr said they hate seeing it in fic. Oh well, to each his own!)

Kurt's magical disappearing teeth! *g* I decided just the barest hint of teeth would be the way to go. In the ref pic I looked at while drawing, it was just total blackness - you couldn't see any teeth at all - but that didn't translate well to a drawing... he looked like a toothless old man, lol.

Maybe when you've run out of shows to watch after your move you can try Glee! (Or do you already watch?)
