Matthew glances over at Lucas. He's sitting about a foot away, just far enough away for it not to be suspicious, and he'd be lying to himself if he said he didn't feel nervous about this, but of course he does. It's kind of an unpredictable situation. And as confident as he is in his own feelings, Todd is bound to be upset about it.

"...What, so, we just don't tell him ever? That's not really...going to work. And you know it."

He reaches up and runs a hand through his hair, looking up at the entrance doors again, waiting.

"...I mean, I could just...not move in with you. But then I'd be pissed, because you...I mean, that'd mean you got my hopes up for nothing." He frowns. "We're telling him. Now. It's been...it's been two months. He needs to hear it eventually, and it's just better to do it now."

Todd floats in, as quick as he possibly can. He has no clue what Lucas wanted to talk to him about so badly, but he didn't like having any suspense about it. He'd be lying if he didn't admit he was a little nervous, because Lucas didn't seem too excited about this and that wasn't a great sign.

"Hey," he says, "So, uh...what do you want to talk to me about?"

Before Todd gets there, Lucas raises an eyebrow at Matthew. "I wouldn't do that."

But before he can say anything more, Todd's floating in. Some part of Lucas still thought it was unfair that his two best friends could fly, and he couldn't. Lucas smiles softly, nervous, and nods in greeting.

"Hey." He swallows hard, glancing at Matthew once more. "I just...

...remember yesterday, when we were talking about...how you didn't want me to keep secrets from you anymore? Even if I thought they might upset you?" Lucas sits up a little straighter. "This is about that. There's something really important I wanna tell you, about the apartments...and...about Matthew."

Matthew isn't going to say anything, here. At least, not at first. Todd will probably want to hear it from Lucas, anyway. If it looks like he's failing, Matthew will step in, but this is really something that Lucas needs to find the strength within himself to do.

He just nods a little when Lucas gets started, watching Todd's reaction carefully. If things get out of hand--which they might--he'll step in front of Lucas without hesitation. He might not stand a chance against Todd, but he stands more of one than Lucas does alone.
