It was the loud clank of the hammer on the wall that eventually led Roxas to him.

He'd been looking for the better part of the day, wanting to half-avoid Axel and completely avoid the blood on the walls and floors and everywhere.

Roxas followed their bond here, the pain and anger and upset flooding through him and making it hard for him to be around anyone else. It was rare that Sora felt like this. Roxas was pretty sure, though, that he knew why (he still couldn't open his eyes, couldn't see the dead bodies and their echoes in slashes of red on white. It was too much).

"Sora," He said quietly once he reached his Other, face set in a concerned frown.

The workshop doesn't have any bodies or any blood. It has been cleaned away because Sora needed to be somewhere without it. Every time he closed his eyes all he could see was Tyki reaching into the helpless staff, their blood splattered on the walls, organs ripped from their body. It had been a slaughter and nothing Sora did could stop it.

He twitched the moment the door opened but the familiar presence instantly made him relax. Though he doesn't move from his spot or even move towards his Nobody.

"Hey." The single word wavered, betraying all of his feelings even though Roxas already felt it.

Roxas didn't say another word. It was clear in every line of Sora's body exactly how he was, and Roxas could feel him anyway, so it was useless to ask. After the emotional strain and exhaustion of the last two days, all Roxas could do was quickly cross the space to stand next to Sora, settling his pale hand onto Sora's trembling, white-knuckled one.

Everything fell apart the instant Roxas touched him. Tears that he'd been holding in now stream down his face freely. His legs collapse beneath him and Sora sank to the floor, still trying to keep contact with his Nobody. "Why? Why couldn't I save them?"
