Team Hackers and their defenders

For the hackers and defenders set up at the work stations on level three in the experimental staging area.

[Sollux relaxes into the embrace, closing his eyes, loosing focus on the computers for just a second. He takes a deep breath.]

One fuck up. One fucking mistake.

[That's all it would take for them to loose everything. All it had almost taken for him to loose Karkat. He wraps his arms around the shorter troll.]

You're doing great, okay? You're kicking their asses so fast they don't even know what the fuck. Things are almost locked down now, we'll be okay.

[He's rambling out to Sollux, but he's trying to tell himself that too.]

[He nods into his shoulder, soaking up the words. Right, they would be okay. He hold Karkat tighter.]

None of it would have even mattered if..

[He cuts himself off, he doesn't want to finish that sentence. He pulls back to look at Karkat.]

Are you alright?

[Karkat looks back at him and shrugs a shoulder. He won't even know how okay he is until later.]

Well it's not like I could exactly help it, what with the ongoing countdown of imminent death. [He pauses for a second, glancing away.] Shit's kind of terrifying no matter how you do it.
