Damian grunted as he heard a knock at his door. He just wanted to sit here and read this book he found in the rec room and be left in peace, but clearly that was too much to ask in this place ( ... )

"I gathered as much," She stated simply back, chin up and her gaze steady.

Seeing him again, in person was even weirder than over the network. It hurt to see. She had built up a lot around the Damian she knew- but, she knew it wasn't likely now.

"I wanted to apologize, even if you don't care." She dug her hands back into her sweater's pockets, looking the part of awkward teenager. She was certainly taller now, gangly and edging towards awkward. "Because I owe you that," And more than she was going to fully explain.

Damian wanted to hate her. That would be the easy thing, to just hate her and close the door and call it a day. Yet inexplicably the failure!him, the him who was here before, decided to open up to this girl and tell her things he shouldn't have willingly told anyone. "No real names in the field" was Grayson's first rule, and one he took to heart. Sure, Colin knows his name, but that was an accident; a moment of carelessness. One that he was sure he would never make again.

So what was it about this girl that caused the other him to give that sort of information away to her? The mere question bothered him, made him want to close the door in her face even quicker... But he didn't.

"Apologies are just words, they mean nothing to me." His knuckles almost white from his grip on the door. Oh how he wanted to slam the door in her face. "If you really want to make it up to me, you'll give me something useful."

"Words still have power, more than you'd think." Here she was, just acting like Sasha. Later she'd be weirded out by it, for now she stood as tall as she could. Lili just wanted to not have the door slammed on her, be screamed at too much.

She just wanted- some form of friendship again. Even if it'd take a long time to actually get there.

"What do you consider useful?" She wanted to make it up to him. Even if he wouldn't acknowledge her any longer. "It kind of varies around here, food, weapons-" She waved a gloved hand back as she left the sentence drift away.
