Shikamaru had finally woken up a few hours earlier, back sore and blades of grass sticking to his face. Maybe the biodome hadn't been the best place to settle for his sixteen-hour semi-coma, but he'd been too tired to even try and make his way back to suite twelve, especially after what had happened between him and Temari.

They had both been out of line the week. It was easy to see that in hindsight. Sleep-deprived and so angry, he hadn't been thinking straight. Antagonism where there should have been apologies, unnecessary insults from both sides (some of which had hurt far more than others)... But now that they'd both had time to rest and regroup, he wasn't going to avoid her any longer. That only ever made things worse.

He hesitated in front of their door when he reached it, eventually raising a hand to knock. He'd been thrown out, after all.

She'd know that chakra signature anywhere. He was knocking? The end of the week was an exhausted blur, was there something else she'd done to him? Rather than just hollering for him to come in, Temari tossed the wadded remains of her work onto the bed and got up to answer the door.

The shinobi looked sheepish once the door was open, looking down at her feet. "Hey."

They were practically mirror images in posture on their own sides of the doorway. Hands deep in his pockets, he scuffed at the floor with his foot for a moment before looking up at her.

"... Sleep alright?"

"Like the dead."

She finally looked up at him, hunting for any sign that he was still pissed at her, or that he was going to start avoiding eye contact again. It had been months since that problem had reared it's head, but she had to check.
