The Murder of Mohinder Suresh splice_of_life December 23 2011, 00:35:50 UTC
All he wanted to do was sleep. Bedrooms were dangerous already with the idiot trying to carry on two not-exactly platonic relationships with murderers out of a sick need for companionship and the number this awful place did on his psyche. Adding the presence of a bed and the promise of one comforting individual to curl up with left Mohinder wandering the halls.

Anything to keep the collar from strangling him. Or Elle from accidentally electrocuting him when the sprinklers went off. Or Sylar's haunted stares from following him each time he left the room.

The mission was simple: collect food. Mohinder was just going about it as slowly as possible in hopes that it would stretch time out. He only had to make it for two more days.

She drew one of her blades-simple things, sharpened scissors broken into their halves made a wonderful source-and aimed carefully at his back. Be quiet, or it would end up like the boy from earlier, and she wouldn't let this new person get the upper hand.

Aimed, and thrown. Then she was drawing a second and rushing in, ready to bring it down upon wherever was vulnerable enough for her to attack. There may not have been too much honour in attacking from the back, but it had its own merits.

Mohinder was nothing, a piece of crumpled paper and little more. The first blade hit him dead on and the blade winged into his back so easily that he didn't manage to get anything other than an "oh" out at first. Dark hands patted at the walls before he fell, pain and blood seeping across his skin. He had the good sense to look over his shoulder, startled by the seeming woman, red hair blinding.

"But--" he choked out before she was on him, driving him to his knees. He never stood a chance.

Elle had given up on huddling in her room. It seemed that whenever she did, the sprinklers went off as soon as she began nodding off.

And hadn't she been thinking about throwing a party to help keep people awake, anyway? She should work on that, shouldn't she? Sure, she could barely think, but she had to be capable of something.

When she slipped in the red puddle, it took her several minutes of sitting, dumfounded, to realize what the red stuff was. She looked at the blood on her hands and clothes in confusion, then forced herself to her feet, stumbling to Sylar's room. Mohinder would be there. And if not, Sylar would be. Sylar would be smart enough to find Mohinder.

She just had to make sure this wasn't Mohinder, and then she could find a place to sleep that didn't have sprinklers.

She barged into Sylar's room, looking around with wide eyes. When had he gotten a tiny dragon? She hoped it stayed away from her - she'd zap the damn thing out of existence.

She signed for Mohinder, mouthing for him at the same time, and then drew Mohinder's name in the air. Where was Mohinder?

She frowned at him for pinning her to the door, only realizing why she hadn't been able to move after he'd let her go. On the other hand, she felt more awake now.
