Patchouli had just entered the suite as John knocked. She had gotten a water bottle, but she hadn't expected him to be knocking on her door when she got back. Her voice is tired and cracked, and she really isn't in the best of moods.

"I'm not in there."

John turns, trying to keep his teeth from gritting against each other.

"Hello, Patchouli." He took a step towards her, his face set grimly. He wasn't playing around, this time. And he wasn't going to show weakness.

Patchouli had never been one to put on a weak front, but there was something about the boy that unnerved her. Perhaps it was the fact that she knew what had happened. Perhaps it was the fact that without her grimmoire she was completely defenseless. Perhaps it was both of those facts combined that made her worried about just what John was about to do. She wanted to bolt for the door, but she knew she wouldn't make it in time.

"Hello, John. Can I help you with something?"

John bristled - probably unknowingly. The conflict with Patchouli's puppet was still fresh in his mind, as he grit his teeth and forced himself to disassociate the two. His chest tickled oddly as he took in a deep breath.

"We need to talk. About a lot of things." He had wanted to talk - he had decidedly wanted to discuss things with her, he knew it wasn't going to end well - any talk they had had, recently, was destined to end in failure of the spectacular kind.

But it never hurt to try.

"Assuming you're willing, that is."
