Who: Soul and Maka When: Monday Night Where: Suite 38 Summary: Soul wakes up in Facility and goes to make sure that Maka is ok. She doesn't react exactly like he expects. Rating: PG-13 Warnings: Angst
Maka hadn't been expecting anybody which was why the knock somewhat surprised her. She sat up from where she had been reading, Jet having left for the moment to give her some time to herself, and after placing the book down, went to the door.
When she had opened the door, it was only after almost a full minute of staring at the boy standing before her that the message her optic nerves were trying to communicate to her brain finally sunk in. Maka didn't react though. She didn't blink or look away, and she didn't smile or frown. Instead, she ignored the searing pain in her chest, and wondered what the experiment was this week.
"...I thought it was an off week..." Was all she said out loud, more for her own benefit then for the benefit of whatever it was standing in front of her.
His relief faded just slightly into annoyance. Part of him had kind of wanted her to greet him with some sort of enthusiasm, not the dull disbelief he had found. Soul sighed and crossed his arms.
"I'm not an experiment, and-wait."
Her eyes were looking up at his face and not at his chest like when she had been blind. Soul waved his hand in front of her face.
"You can see me? How many fingers am I holding up?" He held up three.
She shook her head back and forth, a shaking hand coming to rest on her temple before she replied with a strained, "Go away."
With that simple greeting she began to shut the door on him. Whatever this week was, whatever she was seeing, if it meant being anywhere with him, she would just have to stay in her room all week.

"Look, I know you're probably mad that I was gone, but it's not like I had a choice."
