Darc barely looked up when Gabriel entered his field of vision, given that he was much too busy scowling at the ground and feeling sorry for himself at that moment in time. He was tired, hungry, and still wearing the slashed up tank top splattered with both his and Izaya's blood from Sunday night, but there was no way he could return to suite nine; not when he knew he would just attack Izaya again if he saw him, and it wasn't as if the human would let him back in right now, anyway.

He just gave the archangel an irritable grunt before looking away again...and that sudden desire to punch Gabriel in the face that flickered through him on realising he was there? Well, it must be because his mood was already bad and the guy was always trying to piss him off, of course. It couldn't possibly because he sort of thought he was alright. Obviously.

Gabriel, on the other hand, wasn't used to wanting to hurt Darc. Bug the hell out of him, yes. All the time, if he were to be honest, but not actually do anything violent. Well, not since their last fight, but that had been Asura's fault anyway.

So when he suddenly did feel the urge to leave a bruise or several, he was a little confused, but mostly just annoyed. Not surprised though - he never could catch a break, could he? But then again... he couldn't just turn around and leave. Not when Darc was looking so broody - turning down an opportunity to mock him would be against pretty much every behavioural code he had.

"Nice outfit, kid." He stopped, a little further away than one would usually be for conversation, his head tilted a little to one side. "I can probably find you a Simple Plan CD, if you need a soundtrack for your manpain."

Darc did look up this time, his gaze sharp and his lip curled back a little from his fangs as he did so, though this was hardly an unusual expression for him to be wearing even on a good day. Still...the urge to just walk up and smack the archangel right in the face was showing no sign of abating, though the halfbreed did try to push it away; they'd been there once before after all, and he was well aware that he was outmatched. Besides, Gabriel spoke to him this way all the time, and while he often considered doing such a thing, he'd never felt so close to following through with it before, not since their one and only physical fight during the time they had known each other.

He glanced down at his blood-stained shirt, his expression darkening for just a moment before he gave the other an incredulous snort. "Tch. What the fuck are you talking about now?"

"Nothing." He shrugged, grinning a little more sharply than usual. "Your newfound embrace of your obvious home in emo subculture, maybe. Or maybe punk, you could do punk. You've got the spikes for it."

He stuffed his hands firmly into his jacket pockets, mostly because he couldn't quite stop them from curling into fists.
