Justin's sanity is faulty at the best of times, and his attempt at avoiding sleep this week is just making things worse. There's no reason to think the knock at the door is real, but he checks anyway, opening up the door and staring down at Maka in slight confusion.

Maka has large bags under her eyes from not sleeping, and her hair is let out of its usual style, and less than neat. Her posture radiates exhaustion, and her expression isn't doing much better to convey anything else. When he opens the door, she pushes some hair behind one ear self consciously and forces herself to look at him so that he can understand her.

"Can I talk to you for a little while?" There is vulnerability and despair in Maka's voice that she has likely never shown in front of Justin Law.

A pause, taking in her appearance.

"Of course. Come in." He opens the door wider and slips the earbuds out of his ears. She's a mess, isn't she?

She isn't surprised, but she's relieved nonetheless when he allows her in. There had been a chance he wouldn't after all, and she bows her head in a grateful nod before slipping inside. She doesn't sit, but leans against the wall as she tries to get her thoughts straight.

"Hi. How are you?" She finally asks, realizing she hasn't actually spoken with him a long time.
