... Right?
He's just laying on his bed, staring vacantly on the ceiling, when he hears a soft sound outside his door. He growls faintly, sits up, and then crosses over to the door and swings it open, about to rebuke whoever is outside. To tell them to go the hell away.
His angry words die on his lips when he sees Knives there, curled up at his door. He flounders around for a few more and ultimately fails, the only thing managing to make it past his lips at this point a surprised and confused inquiry.
"...Knives? The fuck are you doing here?"

She doesn't dare look at him. While she's slowly becoming more familiar with him, she's still embarrassed to be caught crying. Outside his room and in the middle of the night now less.
She listlessly shrugs at his question. "I don't know. I don't even know. I just am, I guess."

And as much as he hates to admit it, a part of him sympathizes with that. After all, it wasn't so long ago that he watched the demise of someone who he cared about deeply over the networks.
"You didn't make the trip for nothing," he sighs, leaning against the door frame. "Would..." He pauses, checks the halls. Empty. "...Ugh. Do you want to come in?"

Even though he's been pretty nice to her lately, he still doesn't consider a friend. Not really. Or if even he did, he would never ever admit it out loud, which stings more than him just brushing her off as some stupid kid. Even though she said she was fine with it, she really doesn't like being someone's secret friend. She doesn't want to be a secret anything.
"Really?" At his offer, she looks up at him in surprise. "You wouldn't mind if I did?"
