He entered the biodome half an hour before their meeting time. He was always early when it came to training. Even before he reached the area, Sai had sensed the other, his chakra unique signature easy to spot for someone who had studied him as closely as Sai had.

He made his way to the far away area Gaara was occupying and leaned against a tree not wanting to disrupt him.

Though he was in the midst of an activity exercising precise control, the approaching signature immediately alerted his attention. He knew Sai would be early, of course, the importance of punctuality having been ingrained in both of them.

Keeping his focus on the task at hand, the redhead sent a thin trail of sand back over his shoulder. It sailed through the air to curl around his boyfriend's wrist, deftly skimming across his palm, in acknowledgement of Sai's presence.

After a short period, Gaara flipped down to the ground, landing on his feet, meeting the other with a calm, even gaze.

Dark eyes stared down at the sand curled around his wrist. Without hesitation, he moved his other hand above the thin trail, and slide an exposed index finger over the sandy grains as he waited for the other to finish.

He noticed the gaze, and lifted his eyes up to him, stopping his movements. he didn't speak, merely waited... waited to follow his lead.

He had been about to call back that trail, when he noticed Sai touching it. In that small act, he decided to leave the sand in his grasp, continuously rolling over Sai's hand. It wasn't as if their training efforts would be deterred.

"Are you ready?" Gaara quietly posed in inquiry, feeling energy coursing through his body, anticipating the difficulty lying ahead. He hadn't made considerable progress, and while it didn't necessarily frustrate him, he also didn't want to waste time in acquiring a much needed increase.

"Instruct your bird to fly... and I will give chase."

He didn't expect to be able to catch Sai's bird right away, but he intended to eventually accomplish that endeavor.
