He'd gotten a mattress too, when Yuffie had collapsed on the floor, not wanting her to have to deal with the hard surface with all her injuries, and. Well. Here he was. Tired. Slumped over in his chair, mouth slack, eyes sinking closed a bit.
And then Yuffie let out a noise, pained, and Suzaku automatically jerked upright, eyes jumping open. "I'm awake," he grated out, too quickly, mopping a hand over his face and peering over at Yuffie. "Oh. Hey, you're up."

She glanced briefly at Rolo--her primary concern, but he still appeared to be asleep. Handcuffed, and still asleep. Geez, she still felt bad about that. Shifting the weight on her hands, she turned over again and eased herself into a sitting position.
"He still hasn't woke up, has he?" It was a rhetorical question. He wasn't likely to wake up for a while, and she couldn't have been asleep for that long if she still felt like crap. "...How long was I out?"

She did look worse for wear, but it was a bit of a relief to see her alive and fairly well. She'd been bad the afternoon before, really bad. And-- that weirdly became so much more worrying after he'd found out what her name was. Maybe that made him shallow. Euphie. It was a name that he hadn't heard in a while, and now it was her NAME.
This was so confusing.
"He's gonna be okay. Hopefully the experiment this week will be a little more-- forgiving on him."

Yuffie listened silently to Suzaku's assessment of Rolo, nodding her agreement at the end and sighing heavily. Which made her cringe again. She was really bad at this 'keeping still' thing, wasn't she? If only there was a 'Numb Everything' materia. Her kingdom for some pain-killers. Seriously.
"How about you? You holding up okay, or should I throw a spell your way?"
She felt just a little bad for not healing him before, but she also figured he could handle it, and considering the condition she and Rolo had been in... Anyway, this kept him talking, which she didn't mind at all. It kept her, in turn, from dwelling on the earlier fight.
