Robin was sick. She'd already thrown up a couple of times, and the blood was scary. She was hot, and then she was cold, and her head hurt and her insides hurt and she couldn't even sleep on her back anymore. It was painful to the touch, and the back of her legs were starting to feel like that too.

She could barely think, barely see, when she heard the door creak open. Light flooded the otherwise dark room and she snarled a little miserably, pressing her face into the pillow on the bed. It was Barney, but she had no desire to even say anything. She just wanted to sleep.

"Barney," she managed, trying to keep her eyes open as she spied what he was holding in his hand. Water. She tried to smile, but it came out more of a grimace. Great. She was a mess, and he had to see her like this. This so was horrible. "You brought me water.."

Barney's silly grin fell a little at her voice. It was muffled and pained. She must be feeling awful... That sucked! --But then again, if he made her feel better... Yes, he'd ahve to be a gentleman and keep his cool! Coddling, but not too much, attention, but not clingy! Of course! It was genius.

"Yes, yes I did!" He made his way over to her, opening up a bottle as he did. He offered it, but she couldn't really move too much, so he kind of, sort of bent around a bit until he could let her drink without spilling it all over her. That would be a definite minus.

He tried petting her hair a bit, but that just felt too intimate, but doing nothing felt distant and oh my god why was this so hard!

Barney came closer, and Robin closed her eyes to his footsteps. They sounded especially loud in her head, all echo-y and magnified.

"Thanks," she mumbled, when he helped her drink. Her throat felt better, but she was still so hot and sick, and it didn't even really matter at this point. She didn't want to move, so she rested her head on the pillow, looking up at him through half lidded eyes.

That reminded her of something. His face reminded her of something.

"Hey Barney," she said, in a dazed voice. "Barney... do you love suits?"

Barney's mind was dragged from his musings at that.

"Uh, yeah, I do," he stared at her a bit. "Didn't we have this conversation a few days ago? Suits are awesome!" Her eyes looked so tired, he whole body limp, and all he could do was sit there, useless, making stupid comments about stupid suits. Who cares! He wanted to scream. Why are we talking about suits at a time like this??

A time like what? There was no time! It was all in Barney's head. She thought nothing of whatever he did, but he thought about everything she did... and she was asking about suits. His suits. His pride and joy and the essence of his awesome... suits.
