[Equius looks very distraught, settled in front of one of the stasis pods, which he has covered unceremoniously with what appears to be a very sweat-stained sheet from his old bed. He's a little blue in the face, and he is, like clockwork, sweating copiously.]

...What purpose do these pods serve, and how do we remove individuals from inside?

They're called waffles! ... unless someone gave you like... roadkill doughnuts. Waffles are the only thing I can think of that fit that description.

Oh. I see.

I wasn't entirely sure what to make of them. They were quite strange.

Did you eat them?

...Well, yes. I understood that they were food, at least.

Sir? Are you alright...?

["Sir"? Oh, goodness.]

Uh. I am fine. There is someone in this pod that I would like to free, if I could. Do you have any idea how they function, or if I would be able to remove her--

...Err, them, without damaging them in some way?

As far as we have been told those pods are for their own protection. They are being healed while inside, and it would be wiser not to open it until robots decide it's the time, for fear of worsening their condition.

Umm... That was me. They're a local dish from my home. Since the princess loves them, I thought you might like them as well.

Oh, well. I see. I do appreciate you giving me a gift.

...The, ah, the nobility from your home world enjoys them, then?

Correct!

Well, to be honest, yofwals are extremely popular, but fairly rare since it's hard to cook them just right. You don't really see them outside of the capital as a result.

Well then.

[He smirks a tiny bit.]

I am rather fortunate to receive them as a gift. Clearly you understand that I am of noble blood and deserve the finest delicacies.

However...how did you know to deliver them to me? I don't believe I've spoken to you before...have I?

[He didn't get her name, before, and he didn't see her face, either.]

About how apparently you're makin' people pissed at me without tellin' the whole story.

...Excuse me.

I only spoke to people about the situation in question after they were already aware of what little information you were willing to give them.

...They're for treating the sick.

Is it Aradia?

[Welp. No sense lying about it.]

...Yes.

[He wouldn't be up here if it wasn't.]

[He looks briefly crushed by that response, but manages to move past it fairly quickly.]

Val says. Sometimes we get sick, the interns used to call it "clone sickness." I'm not sure why, or what it does, but the stasis pods are for their treatment.

[He hesitates, almost forcing himself not to look over his shoulder at the covered pod.]

...So. There is something wrong with her.
