[Alex? He's got a few notebooks on hand, a pencil tucked behind an ear and it appears that he's stalking down the halls, purpose on mind. It's as if there's something he needs to study, but that doesn't make sense ( Read more... )

[There's a knock! Alex will be opening the door and peeking his head in.]

Nill?

[She stands up and smiles at him, waving him inside. She was really excited to start learning to read and write, and was thankful that Alex had offered to teach her.]

[Fixing the assortment of notebooks he has, Alex removes the pencil from behind his ear, nods and walks inside. There's a small smile in turn and a nod of the head as he regards her. Moving over to the desk in her room, he makes a motion for Nill to sit.]

You're fine with the desk, yes?

To read. What else would you do with a book?

Are you that bored?

If I'm asking for a history book? Likely yes.

What have you been up to, Suki?

[You said a magic word just now.]

History of which place, may I ask?

The old continent, preferably. [Religion, mainly. Maybe.]

Though any piece of history, I would be willing to read.

I only know the history of my world. Eastern Europe, and some places near there.

[He holds up what was once a blank book.] I can't guarantee its quality, but, I wrote down everything I could remember on the topic long ago.

Eastern-- I would take that to read over anything. [He raises a brow, quiet for a moment while looking at the book.]

How long have you been doing such a thing?

You must've been real popular at school. Lemme guess, as well as reading history books for kicks, didja happen to bring the teacher a nice shiny apple every morning too?

You must be a hit at the pub. When are comedy nights?

[He huffs, crosses his arm as he fixes the 'berry.] The teacher hated my guts.

Can't imagine why that'd be, cheerful little chap like you. Bet you're a real pleasure to have in the class.

It was a religious school full of inconsistencies. Bordered on the edge of 'let's praise the good things and shove the unlovely shit under the rug'.

You can figure out the rest.

Yeah, me too. Man, I'd kill for a good book in general. The stuff here is crap.

By kill, I don't mean literally. Just a warning to whoever else is watching this feed.

[People are so stingy.] It is crap! I've found several cookbooks here. Does it look like there's access to anything like that here?

I don't mean it either. I'm not really the killing type.

[Unless he absolutely has to, and then he does it very well.]

Yeah, I know. And some dumb books about sex. I mean, sex is great and all, but I'd like something with some actual reading value.

[.. Oh Alex Shepherd. That's okay.]

Exactly! Why even place the books here if none of them are useful?
