[He approaches cautiously, like a shy child would. She seems nice, so he's not afraid, but this is still meeting a new person after all and that's intimidating.]

[He doesn't actually know what scorpions are, just that they look too much like something he remembers so they must be bad. But the one he ran from has wandered on its way, so when sand shifts away and he cautiously ventures out of the little hole he hid in the coast is clear.]
