[Guess who's a new arrival and thinks that her cellphone was replaced with a faciliberry? She doesn't appear to be aware that the video feed is on, and judging by the text feed that accompanies the video she's trying to dial some sort of phone number. Those who know it would recognize it as Madoka Kaname's cellphone number from back home. She ( Read more... )

[Sleep deprivation week just ended, for Chrissakes. She was tired. Bugfuck tired. Even though she'd slept for over twelve hours the night before.

So imagine her surprise, when she goes to check the time on her Facilliberry before turning in for the night, and--]

[She gives a small wave, before tapping at her Facilliberry and plopping down on the floor.]

Let me get some of this stuff out of the way, first. It's kind of shocking, though, so you might wanna sit down.

[She nods, sitting down on the edge of her bed and waiting for what Madoka had to say.]

Like I said before, we're in a place called the Facility. It's run by a small group of scientists and doctors called the Consortium, and a supercomputer named Val.

They run weekly experiments. Some of them are harmless, but some of them are pretty bad, trying to break us down.

We're currently on Week 154. I've been here a month or so.

[She clears her throat.]

Do you get it, so far?

[She nods, but it's a lot to take in. It sounds like some sort of bizarre story, but Madoka said it. That made it true to Homura, no matter how impossible.

And yet one month...]

Are you okay?

[She musters up a small smile and a nod.]

I'm fine. I'm fortunate to not have gone through anything terrible, yet.

Now, uh, your collar. All of us have them. They're designed to limit our powers.

[She's unsure, but she doesn't want to push the issue. If Madoka said nothing terrible had happened, then she was fine. When the experiments happened, Homura would be there to protect her friends. It was just that simple to her.]

The collars? [Her hand reaches up and touches it.] How do they do that?

I'm not sure, actually. But the general limit is 50%. People with time powers can't use theirs in the regular building, though. Only during outside trips to F3.

F3?

[WHAT ARE ALL THESE STRANGE AND NEW PIECES OF INFORMATION HOMURA CAN'T DEAL WITH THIS]

Oh! Um, I forgot to explain that...it's where they take us out from the regular building here, and put us in an outside setting. Sometimes it's from someone's home world. I haven't been in one yet, but they take place every couple of months.

When we're in the F3 places, we get all of our powers back.

Who's they? The Consortium? Val?

Both. They kind of work together.

Ah. So like a team?

Kind of. But Val does some things that are against the Consortium's orders. Sometimes she does things to try and help us.

So is she a good person then?

andsosheprays December 26 2011, 08:58:43 UTC
Well, not all the time. Most of the time, she does what the Consortium tells her to.
