[A soft hum sounds over the network.]
I guess I slept in for too long...Kairi moved all of my things into here already.
[There is a rustle of fabric, and then fingers grasp at the communicator.]Hello to all of our newcomers. My name is Naminé, I'm one of the residents here. If nobody has given you the text file explaining what the Facility is, I

...really? ...why is that?

I... wasn't lying. To your Shibusen self. [a beat] Somewhere along the line, it wasn't the fake memories that swayed me.

[Even so far back as that Reaver attack, but he... couldn't admit it even to himself at that point, even when it took Xion to hold him back from blowing their heads off with a rifle. Because more than likely, he would have gotten killed or worse, too. Why does it always take losing for him to realize things?]
... [deep breath...and he might have slipped a small package into her hand.] Merry Christmas.

He understands her. He understands her so well. Those fake memories have hindered them before on so many occasions and for so many things...but they've made new memories, haven't they? And those are real. It doesn't have to stop them from...
Well. She's not sure what it doesn't have to stop them from, but feeling the weight of his words and the present in her hand, Naminé is getting an inkling of what that could be.
She wants to keep that pleasant and warm weight, as close as she can for as long as she can. So she closes her fingers around the package, catching his hand as well. Accepting it and him.]

[She lets out a soft, trembling laugh, squeezing his hand in hers.]
...it's not fair, I don't have something to give back to you. Isn't that how it's supposed to go?

He really is in love with Naminé. Not the lies that were crafted, but with her.
And if she could accept that, and that he was still piecing together everything... then maybe they really could weather everything out. Just as they are; the titles 'fake' or 'nonexistent' didn't matter when these memories, however painful, were real. Just like the gentle, warm weight resting against him and the slightly nervous pounding he could hear in his ears.
A fake like him was really accepted. By someone he truly cares for. He's happy, despite his tiredness and how drained he is.]
Naminé, you... [a pause, and he laughs ( ... )

Still. It'll be a New Year's gift, okay? I already know what to make for you.
[She turns her attention to her gift, fingering the wrapping as she tries to put her words together. Even if she didn't have a heart, she wants to be just as heartfelt as him.]
And I-- I'll keep staying by your side. Whenever you need me, I'll be here for you.

It's fine. [Especially since it's already far more than he could ever ask for. Her not having a heart doesn't really bother him, because lately.. his fake heart has been a pain as it is. Maybe it was due to the lack of sleep, but oh well.]
Same to you. [He smiles faintly at the red on her face.] If you ever need me, I'll be your side. ['Until the end.' just doesn't has as much of a punch here, but... it's still there.]
[He hopes you like the bracelet and small star-shaped charm that he tried to weld with his fire magic. Stupid sprinklers.]

Something catches in her throat when she sees it.]

Y-you're welcome. [Oh man, why is his face so hot-?]

...Okay, who put mistletoe right there. :\] I'm glad you like it.
[S-so many times did he set off the sprinklers. Um... there might be a shy kiss on the cheek back. Derp.]
