[Anyone who was looking for Jareth this week wouldn't find him. Not that anyone would be, besides maybe Kenzi.
Jareth was fairly positive he could handle anything this facility could dish out. But mud? Everywhere?
Well. This was hardly an impressive lesson. And no King should be seen in such...disarray

And. He was stuck.
No amount of struggling was getting his little bird legs out of this pile, and even more than that his wings were caked and he couldn't really fly even if he did. He could just change into his normal, Fae form...
...but then someone might see him with mud on him, or even worse, sitting in this awful thing, and--no. No, that was simply not an option.
Oh. Oh. But a person! He starts out loud and authoritative, flapping his wings as hard as he can--]
Hoot! HOOT!! [Followed by a screech. But when he realizes that might not get the best results, he turns it into a more pitiful hooting that would crack even the iciest of hearts.]

It's...an owl?
He stops and lets himself sink down into the mud, turning his head around in confusion, searching for the source of the noise. It sounds like it's coming from the floor, which means...if it is an owl, it's stuck in the mud somewhere.
Matthew frowns.]
...
[When the hooting gets quieter and he can't hear it as well, he tries whistling to mimic the pitch of the screech, hoping to get a louder response from the animal. He doesn't want to step on it or kick mud into its face on accident, after all.]

--oh. It's the Patel boy. The one who wished the pain in his arm away, which so very interesting to watch--the in that situation no one learned much of anything, much to the King's dismay.
Regardless, he was looking for him--and Jareth did see into his heart, and see that it was soft and his mind was mostly sweet--
So he screeches in response to the whistle, not sounding frantic but definitely sounding louder.]

Yes. He just declared it his territory. It's a King thing, don't question it.
And now he's just going to...flap silently behind you in a way until he perches, watching with wide eyes...his head swiveling back and forth.]

[He's just...so oblivious to Jareth following him. Seriously.]

Very momentary.
Because he is now, very stealthily, flapping up and perching right behind him. It would be so very easy, and yet--it is so much more entertaining when they give chase.
So he screeches as loud as he can at the back of the bat's head.]
[[ooc: and I made you a present! <3]]

Jareth decides to make himself known, considering she is also relatively clean.
So he flutters over and lands.
Directly on her head.]

I suppose I can understand, but I'd rather you didn't do that, per se.
[Speaking to the Owl as though it's a person--does that mean she can tell? Who knows, it could just be she's being practical, as she holds out a long-sleeve-covered arm gingerly, still clean and dry under the cloak and where she's levitating. It's an invitation for him to move there, instead of her head.]
So what do you think I should read next?

Even though she is telling him "no," and that is simply unacceptable. Her arm is clean enough...but he still nests a bit on her head, moving his feet around and tangling the hair the slightest bit before he hops and flutters to her arm. Jareth shifts his weight and chirps. Yes. This will do nicely.
At her question he peruses the bookshelf. Jareth was a fan of all types of literature, but the more fantastical the better--he was always a sucker for fairy tales, of course.
He hoots and quirks his head curiously at the books.]

Komaki has spotted the owl. The six pound chihuahua with bat wings immediately starts to stalk, thinking that she's spotted a stray pet that she might be able to nab and eat before her mistress catches on.]

He clicks his beak to support his point.]

But nope. No sign of him. She was feeling hella alone and decided to go sit in the cafeteria, on a table, still not caring about the mud.]
Major suckage.

But of course, when he sees his favorite little human sulking in such a very human fashion, he flutters up and--
--no, no he does NOT land on her, because she is horribly dirty and ugh.
Instead, he lands on the table next to her, giving his feet a look of disgust, and then giving Kenzi and indignant little "hoot."]

Kenzi turns her head and raises an eyebrow when he lands.]
There you are ... owl I've never met until today! [Ha. Haha. That... was smooth.]
Why are you staring at your feet? Also, where the crap have you been?! Out breaking hearts? Don't answer that. You're a bird.

At her fumbling he gives her a deadpan expression, which is even obvious and more obvious when you're an owl.
It's dirty., Jareth's voice would ring in her head. Do you expect me trudge around in the muck like-- He quirks his head at her. --like some people? His voice is mostly fond and teasing.
He then looks at her shoulder and back to her face, as if to question why it was taking her so long to clean it off and let him perch there.]
