The Midnighter | Night 2 | Video

Oct 05, 2011 23:49

[The video clicks on as Midnighter stirs, dressed in nothing but a pair of boxers. He runs a hand through his (currently) brown hair, but freezes when he catches sight of something off screen.] Shit, Yachiru! [He jumps to his feet and rams his shoulder into something off screen once… twice… three times before backing up and rubbing at his sore ( Read more... )

[Yachiru isn't liking this. At first, it wasn't so scary, just hanging over a vat of something smelly, the fumes of which sting her eyes and nose. Others fight your battles for you. If the man outside the door wants to see you unharmed, he'll let you save yourself... She hadn't quite understood it, but as the timer ticked down, she caught sight of a key, dangling, too far out of reach, but if it dropped just a couple of feet...

The chain starts to drop instead as the timer stops on just 3 seconds, and she shrieks in surprise, though she's quick to action, kicking off her sandals and socks and swinging, trying to grab the key with her feet.

Yeah this game is not very fun.]

[Midnighter rushes into the room, oblivious to the trail of blood he's leaving behind him.] Shit...! [Looks around for some way to help her.] How you holding up there, kid?

[Oh, well, this is lovely. She's just too tiny to reach the dangling key... Time for another approach.] That gross stuff ate my shoes and I can't reach the key to these stupid cuffs! [She swings again, using the momentum of her legs, stretching out to try and grab hold of it with her toes again. Ugh, there's too much chain and she's too short...]

Hang on, I got it. [Goes over to the key and attempts to grab it. His hand grazes it, but he's currently lacking the dexterity to wrap his hand around it and tug. Glancing around again, he decides to go with plan b. Ready? Gonna push you... [Midnighter finds a good spot to not get burned with acid and gives her a solid push towards the key, leaving a bloody handprint on her back.]

[By now, Harry'd figured out the drill. He'd checked Mightnighter's room number -he was clearly the real target of the test- and let himself in through the suite, waiting by the metal door that hadn't been there before. He knew it'd only come open when the test was finished. He only hoped when they did come out, they'd be in a shape he could heal.

[Emerges from the room, holding his hands up so as to prevent all of his blood from dripping out of his body. Midnighter's just sort of staring at one of them like he'd just noticed a black and blue and was trying to determine where it came from. In fact, he's so absorbed in staring at them he almost doesn't see Harry. Almost.] Oh... hey. Not really in the mood for the daily kumbaya. Can we move it to sometime tomorrow? [Is trying hard to be sarcastic, but his heart's not in it.]

[Yachiru is padding out after him, hands on her hips, looking only mildly annoyed, strange for a kid who was dangling over a vat of acid just minutes before. When she sees Harry, she jogs out in front of Midnighter to tug insistently at the hem of the wizard's shirt.]

Ne, mister! Middy's hands are hurt because he's bad at games and he needs a doctor, do you know one?

Yeah. [He steps around Yachiru carefully, the runes on his staff starting to glow]

Well, the doctors are a bit short staffed right now. I'm what you've got right now. I can heal, but it's not one of the most pleasant experiences in the world. let me see those hands before you go into shock.

You know how you were telling me to give it to people straight? This is gonna hurt. But you'll be fixed up real nice, you won't bleed out and you won't have to deal with scar tissue.
