John Watson - Case No. 0019 - [Video] - In Which Sherlock Needs Help

Oct 05, 2011 06:32

[John is a good doctor. A very good doctor. He might even say that he's a great doctor. But some things are just beyond him. For once, the doctor that comes running even when he can just do the bare minimum for a patient is in need of help. Sherlock needs help.]

I need help! Please, somebody, Sherlock was trapped in a vacuum. We're in suite 20. I ( Read more... )

[She's still getting dressed as she heads out the door.]

On my way. Hopefully there will be more healers right behind me. How long was he in there?

Five minutes while the air was removed? Unconscious about a minute. He's alert now, though he's having trouble moving.

[Not that it's stopping Sherlock because the idiot man is insisting on helping John stitch up the arm the doctor had to open to retrieve the key to stop the test.]

Thank you.

Not too bad then. I'll be there in less than a minute.

[And sure enough, there's a short rap on the door before she just let's herself in. If the door was locked? It's not anymore.]

[Sherlock looks up from where he's more or less collapsed on John, his stitching finished. It's a bit messy, but it seemed a good idea just in case. His skin is mottled and his eyes are glassy, movements slow and painful, but he's perfectly aware of his surroundings.]

Him first. I'm stable, I can wait.

[Stable, but a complete mess. A nasty case of the bends, some minor bruising to his spine, and on either side of it just where the ribcage ends two very deep punctures that have yet to stop seeping blood. He'd still rather John go first. He pushes himself away fumblingly and lays down on his side on the floor, wincing.]

What!? What the hell-- Is everything-- I mean are you guys--

[Too. many. injured. friends. Brain panic. Short circuit. Too freaked out to freak out.]

What about you!?

I'm fine. [Lies, but he will be. Sherlock's stitching up his arm at the moment, fumbling a lot really. Doesn't matter.]

He'll be fine too. Probably with a good story to tell.

[He's trying to laugh it off. Because that's what he does?]

John, don't give me your stupid, adorable brave face. What is the deal? Can I do anything!? I can get you stuff, I don't care who I have to swipe it from!

[Now she's even more concerned. Possibly a little scared. They could be coming for her any minute.]

[If he sounds like shit, it's because he feels like shit. Decompression sickness isn't a walk in the park.]

Komui Lee's been manufacturing junk. Ten milligrams should do the trick.

[That's... only sort of a joke.]

You overrun with well-wishers and do-gooders yet, or do you still need help?

[Apparently this is concern. Sort of. An offer, at least.]

No, but thank you.

[He's smirking.]

Didn't realize you cared, Gabriel.

That'd be 'cause I don't.

[He'd tap his nose and wink if one hand wasn't entirely useless. So he'll just wink instead.]

Good. I wouldn't know how to deal with that.

What... happened?

Oh, stubborn idiot refused to tell me where the key to his trap was hidden until it was almost too late. Evidently it's more traumatic to get a bit of a flesh wound over seeing him suffocate.

He... he was talking to me while I was in my trap. And I guess he was in his trap, too. Shit.

[John just nods.]

He helped you out then? [Can you tell he's very proud about that?]

Doctor Watson? Do you still need healers?

I think we'll be all right for the moment. Honestly, thank you for checking in. It was pretty bad this time. I've no idea what to do when it comes to curing someone of having their blood nearly boil.

[She relaxes before shaking her head.]

To be honest, I wouldn't know either. But healing magic has a way of fixing what needs to be fixed without thinking too much on the details of how. So if you still need me to visit Mister Sherlock later, I can.

I'd appreciate that, actually. I've never really understood how magic works. Not really such a thing where I'm from. But a second go over might be worth the trouble.
