[016 - Soubi Agatsuma - audio]

[A video feed does start, but the picture is so dark that nothing can be made out. In the background, if one is listening closely, one may hear the occasional faint, echoing drip. Soubi and Ritsuka have been laying low in the deepest parts of the mines during the Reaver raids, and all there is this far down is darkness and silence.]These raids ( Read more... )

Komui has arranged a safehouse.

[The sentient berry has to add] Which this dirty slut is using as a brothel!

Please ignore the communicator.

[Soubi offers a reassuring smile that, while it can't be seen, can certainly be heard in his voice.]

I don't pass judgment. I'm glad everyone has kept safe. I imagine you're staying busy with healing.

So far, that is correct.

You would forgive him you pedo!

[Yujinn glares at the berry] You want to go in the sack again?

You're lucky that yours is only yelling at you. Mine bit my hand at the beginning of the week and hasn't let me go yet.

Do you really think it's a smart idea?

We have enough food in here to last us a while. If we come to dire straits, it might be the only option we have. The trick would be to hit just the entrance without triggering a collapse in the rest of the mine.

Oh. I guess if we have to.

John has offered that we stay with him and Sherlock. Where they're staying is further away from town than we are now, and there are strength in numbers. Do you want to go, or stay here?

[John and Sherlock have been camping a few miles outside of town. These 'raids' are something he's only seen through the network and it's horrifying.]

Are you and Ritsuka all right?

We're managing. The mines are far enough outside of town that we only get stragglers from the raids, and I've managed them without too much difficulty.

I'm glad to see you can speak again.

[He smiles faintly.]

Good. From what I've seen of the accidental videos of the raids, they hit hard and fast and stay in populated areas. You should be safe.

Trying to stay that way. We wouldn't mind the company if you and Sherlock would like to come stay with us. Deeper in the mine is probably a little cooler than out in that hot sun, anyway.

If air circulation system of some persuasion is not present and running stably, would not advise collapsing mine entrance. Unless there is an alternate surface access or the idea of suffocating to death appeals to you, in any case.

The idea of suffocating to death always appeals to me. Didn't you know?

I hadn't considered that, though. I wonder how complicated it would be to set up something halfway workable.

If you decide to go through with it I should think that finding the air supply would be your first priority. I don't know how advanced the system in this particular mine is, and therefore I cannot speculate as to its nature or where it would be. Nonetheless it would be essential, I suspect ( ... )

I guess sticking a straw out of the rock wouldn't do the trick?

The technology is advanced enough that they should have had a system built in already, right? I guess that's going to be my task for the next few days. If I find one, will you and John come stay with us?
