[She doesn't even bother responding through the berry, choosing instead to go straight to Helion's room. It wasn't hard to figure out who it was. She knocks loudly on the door a few times, tempted to just break the damn thing down.]
[Well, this is a bit of a moral dilemma: As soon as Maka thinks Helion's okay, the hug is going to end, but Helion can't string Maka along so the hug lasts a bit longer.
...Well, okay, that's not much of a moral dilemma, but it still took a second or two to make a decision. How should one react to these situations? Maximum awkward.]
Maka, it's fine, really. It's just a dream, you don't need to think there's any meaning behind it.
Cooking's more useful than your subconscious thinks, kid. Seriously, those ration bars, or whatever they are? Worse than the experiments. Seems to me like cooking's more useful than going 'round panicking and breaking shit and whatever else everyone's doing.
[Exactly! Although he's kind of surprised to see that it's, well, her. It's not as if he's seen her around all that often or really had a conversation, but... he hadn't had her down as the type for a dream like that.]
If it's anything like that? Functional and realistic is so not what I'd call it.
And unless the more useful things include a way of breaking everyone out or stopping the experiments with a snap of your fingers - and I doubt that, I really do - seems to me like everyone else kind of has it covered. Whereas, cooking? Kind of a gap in the market for that. So you can tell despair to go screw itself on that one.
At least 60% of that is Despair. She's... well, Despair. I'm not conscious to point out how unrealistic some of it is, so it kind of gets a little out of control.
It's related to breaking everyone out. Well, it's just a step in the right direction, but it's a good starting point, at least. I still prefer cooking, though.

Helion, it's Maka. We need to talk.

[And she's just going to go throw that door open for you, Maka.]
Ah, come in, com in! I was just doing some experiments anyways, so it's good to have some company!

It's a functional and realistic mindset when I'm awake, just not when I'm asleep. It's one of those things that's a bit hard to explain.
And cooking is useful, it's just that there are more useful things I could be doing instead, so that kind of gets amplified by Despair.
