[listen to how weary Vriska sounds! it was a long week, but she toughed it out. barely.]

Everybody who hit their button last week better report in right now.

If I've never heard of you, I probably don't care if you hit it or not. Use your brain. If something happened to you that didn't happen to anyone else, that's the only thing I care about.

Roll call? What a wonderful idea! Let's find out if anyone had anything good happen to them. I do hope your friends made it through okay, if any of them pressed their buttons.

A-and if you know of anyone in particular who requires minor medical attention, I'll be happy to provide my services.

The doctors gave us a big red button to push, when you hit it you disappeared, and you think good things happened to the people who hit it. You must be new here.

You're the first person I've heard from but I guess that's good to know. Hopefully you're better at medicine than you are at basic logic.

Well, you did say "if something happened to you that didn't happen to anyone else", so I was assuming that you meant that perhaps some people were subjected to worse things than others. I have been paying attention to the network, after all, and most people do seem to have been through bad things, but if even one or two people experienced something abnormal, that's reason enough to conduct a study, I suppose. For example, why would they merit treatment like that, but not others? The possible hypotheses are endless.

Oh, and, I didn't actually press my button. But I'm going to do my best to make sure that those who did are comfortable upon their return.

Ughhhhhhhh, you sound just like what the doctors probably sound like! Look, whatever your name is, I'm not trying to conduct a study here. I'm trying to figure out who got the rawest end of the deal. I don't know if anyone got it worse than anyone else; that's what I'm trying to find out!

You didn't even push the button last week so I don't know why you showed up talking to me like you did.

I'm here. [Coughs for a bit.] But, damn. Those bastards are really something, tricking some of us like that.

Hey, are you holding up all right?

Tricking you? How long have you even-okay, I remember running into you back during one of those weeks we're not talking about. I said I was going to spit blood at you. Right.

Did you seriously get tricked? Did you think it was candy?

Heh, glad to see that you remember me at least.

[There's a slightly long pause. She's kind of embarrassed to admit it, but...]

Yeah. I didn't think that a trap such as that would be really damn obvious, so I went ahead, and I fucking payed for it.

Well, congratulations. I don't want to spit blood at you anymore. It'd be a waste of blood. I didn't think one person could be so stupid but here you go proving me wrong.

I mean, really? [she changes the pitch of her voice a little to sound more like Stocking.] This looks like a trap, so I better fall for it to prove it's not a trap! [and back to her regular voice.] I don't believe you.

How about you? You doing better?

...I uh--

Sorry. About freaking out. I mean to be fair I'm still like, on the goddamn edge of a panic attack, but not...being an idiot. As much. Any more.

I don't know.

I can get to sleep without having to shove shit into my ears. That's always an improvement.

[sigh] Don't worry about it. Last week was weird. We'll just... pretend it never happened and keep on living. You know, like normal.

...yeah. Thanks for being decent to me when I didn't fucking deserve it.

And you need anything, you know where to go. You know.

Like normal.

My whole life here has been people being decent to me when I didn't deserve it. I guess it's called paying it forward. But let's not get into that whole pity party.

I'll keep an eye out for Patel for you, if you want.

I didn't press it. I'm trying to find out what happened to everyone who did.

So what happened to you, Axel?

...All right, so far you're winning for most gruesome. These guys are playing hardball now.

Are you doing better now? Did you get a medic or... whatever?
